How It Works

TREATMENT AS EASY AS 1,2,3!

AERATION CYCLE

  • Discharge Pump Off / Blower On
  • Duration: 20 Hours (4:00a.m. - 12:00a.m.)
  • Description: Aerobic digestion occurs during the aeration cycle. Air from the diffusers continuously mixes the wastewater keeping solids in suspension. The process promotes the growth of aerobic bacteria that oxidize waste.

SETTLING CYCLE

  • Discharge Pump Off / Blower Off
  • Duration: 3 Hours (12:00a.m. - 3:00a.m.)
  • Description: Suspended solids/sludge settles to the bottom of the tank and floating debris floats to the top during this process. During this period dissolved oxygen decreases promoting anaerobic conditions that convert harmful Nitrate to Nitrogen gas. The settling cycle is programmed to occur when the system receives the lowest inflow of wastewater.

DECANT CYCLE

  • Discharge Pump On / Blower Off
  • Duration: 1 Hour (3:00a.m. - 4:00a.m.)
  • Description: Treated wastewater is pumped from the system during the decant cycle. The discharge pump is specifically positioned inside the tank to discharge effluent from the clarified zone developed during the settling cycle.
